French fry

I love, love, love how Audrey engages in conversation more and more everyday. She has such a nice emerging sense of humor, and she often cracks herself (and us) up.

I was apparently talking too much at dinner tonight as I looked over at Audrey, who was talking to her fork:

"You talking fork? No?"

Ok, I can take a hint. So, I asked her what she wanted to talk about. She said "Princesses," which is what is on her fork. Eric then asked her what she had done at school today.

A: "Um, hurt my finger."

E: "No, you did that yesterday."

A: "No, that was on Tuesday."

E: "Ok, what day is today?"

A: "It's Thursday."

E: "What day is tomorrow?"

A: "Um, french fry!"

Giggles all around. She now thinks french fry is a great punch line for pretty much anything.

When did she learn the days of the week???!!!

Little Red Riding Hood

Audrey announced this morning that she was taking her bike, and her shopping bag, and was heading to grandma and grandpa's. She rode around telling us good-bye, and reminding us where she was going.

(Yes, she has capris on in this picture. Yes, there is snow outside. Eric dressed her. "They fit!" was his response. No complaints here.)

Snow! Snow! Snow!

Audrey has begun to love the snow as much as Eric and I do. On Thursday night, I got out Audrey's snowsuit as she laid down to go to sleep, and she immediately stood up and said, "I'm ready to get up!" She was disappointed that she there was no snow when she woke up on Friday morning, but I was happy to have an uneventful drive to work. It snowed while Audrey napped, and she got to make her first snowman with Eric after she woke up. Isn't it beautiful!

We headed out to play in the snow again today. Audrey was not happy with how long it was taking for us to head outside, so she decided to lie on the floor and try to get her snowsuit on herself. She had some trouble staying upright in the snow, but loved trying to walk in it and kept asking us to "get Audrey!" as she tried to run away. The snow packed better yesterday so it's good that the snowman was made then, but I did manage to get in a good snowball - right to Eric's face (oops!).

Eric and I took a little nap afterward, but Audrey continued on full-steam. How does she do it????

Lucas

When I went to pick up Audrey this evening, she was sitting on her teacher's lap drawing with crayons. She was excited to show me the purple crayon which had been tossed aside. "Lucas ate the purple crayon!" Okay, glad he's not my kid.

Her teacher, Ms. Odle (who Audrey keeps calling Ms. Noodle!), then very seriously said,

"I can really see Audrey and Lucas getting married someday. They bicker back and forth all day long like an old married couple. But they're also really touchy-feely."

"Um, this is the same kid who ate the crayon?"

"Yes! But, he also eats Play-Doh."

I've heard Audrey's stories about Lucas. Lucas did this, Lucas did that. I'm not sure what to think of this boy. Or this little girl...

Video!

Here's some video of Audrey from today. She was extra excited that Eric had returned home from work, so she was a little giddy. Two parts to the video due to Audrey running away in the middle of things:)

Finger painting

Look what Audrey did today! Shhhh...it's a secret! She said she'd finger paint with "one finger only" (her idea!) but it didn't exactly end up that way. She had fun and loved seeing the pink bath water after she was escorted upstairs! Now we're just letting it dry before we finish the project!
